Genmai (Roasted Brown Rice)

Made using the Japanese glutinous rice instead of the more commonly used regular white rice, this genmai has a fragrant aroma that lingers on the palate. Perfect for sprinkling on rice, baking and even brewing into a warm caffeine-free rice tea.

Specially made by a small rice farmer in Wazuka, Kyoto, it is also used in our genmaicha.
